SignUp Now!No this not a digital dash its a sweep type 1982 Regal with a stage II motor in it , and it does not have the green box from be hine the dash , I have to purchase two things one from Summit and one from Caspers. So pin A10 on the ECM is the one i hook the wire up to when i have these two other pieces?Brown wire on pin A10. It is a digital (square wave) signal. Originates from the lime green buffer box near the instrument cluster.

Thanks very much it does have a 87 Fuse box and a ecm from a G/N wired into the car, the two pieces that i have to bi have two be installed in the tranny and then wired into the ecm so the chip can see MPH so i can tune the car.Thats Great. Thanks Again. On an '82 ECM it is likely the blue connector, pin 16, tan wire.
Note that it too has the VSS buffer box behind the cluster. It has an optical pickup on the back of the speedometer head. The analog mechanical dashes used the optical buffer boxes for the VSS. This was from ECM beginnings though '87.
Also, I am a little confused now that I read your entire sig. Power plate, plenum spacer, 70MM Throttle Body With Precision Dog House, and LS1 MAF? With a stock ECM. Isn't an '82 a 4-bbl carb set up?
If you have an '86/'87 ECM it is as my first post on pin A10.

The part that Summit gave me was 16 pulse 3 wire the length is 0.104 that's from Summit now from Caspers there is another part i have to get. I just have the part Number on that.OK, that makes sense. You are pulling the VSS information right from the transmission. Note that the ECM is expecting a 2000 pulse per mile (2k PPM) digital signal. If the signal from the trans is at a higher rate and/or a magnetic signal, the Dakoda Digital SGI-5 box will makes things right.

The part number# is 82527 that's from Summit Racing and the other part is from Caspers the #102046 That's what John Spina told me to get.I need more information to be able to tell if these parts would work. Which transmission is this, and do you have part numbers for the other two pieces.
A SWAG on the 16 pulse 3 wire sensor. That sounds like a Hall Effect sensor which will interface to the ECM. However, being a 16 pulse it needs a divide by 8 to give the 2 pulse signal to the ECM.

Sorry i had to go to the store, So what pin number will it be. Pin 10 A or 16 A ? Or will the direction tell me?That will do it. Having John tell you to get these parts goes a long way toward it working.
