I guess I better not mention what my "cold air kit" vs. under hood vs. filter on turbo inlet. Temp experiments turned out.

My manifold temp (MAT) sensor is mounted about 10" in front of the throttle body.

I dunno. it doesn't sound very healthy for the engine to me. My father's 1980 Corvette has a valve in the pass. side exhaust header that closes in order to bring exhaust heat across the intake manifold during engine warm up. I think it's called a heat riser. Same kind of priciple?

The main purp-ass of the heat riser is to 1-keep the car from bogging in cold weather during warm up, 2 quicken warm up time, 3 thus lowering emissions. I think fuel injection kinda did away with all that stuff:rolleyes:

Yeah, well in any case I won't be putting a "WAI" on any of my cars. It sounds a little ass-inine

I guess I shouldn't make the assumption that ALL major car manufacturers and their engineers don't want you to have better mileage. After all, they do gripe and lobby against CAFE standards. Having said that, has anyone on that site noticed that ALL cars have plumbing to pull in outside air instead of warm underhood air? hmmmmm
