Anyone heard of or tried Walbro pump P/N 4495399 for injecting alchy. It is supposed to be 85% ethanol compatible. I don't know how much more harsh denatured is than ethanol but I thought I would try one out. What kind of pump is in the SMC kit?

Denatured is mostly ethanol, I would think that an E85 pump would be mostly ethanol compatible, not sure what the percentage of denatured is, but if you cut denatured with water I'm sure it's good for an E85 pump. Not sure but I think the "Ford" pump that some have had success with is an E85 pump. They still burn up though.

hmmm, I guess that wasn't really much help. :(

These are in tank pumps. Are the Ford pumps you are talking about inline or in tank? Is it a Ford pump in the SMC kit? Of all the people I know with SMC's only one of them has had a failing pump. I have heard of the Ford boost pumps but did not know if they were alcohol compatible.

Honestly I don't know. Seems the only really reliable pumps are big money like FloJet, but even they may not be invincible.

So basically no pump is irresistable to alcohol abuse, it is just some pumps like an E85 pump can handle it longer? How long could you expect a regular stock type in tank pump to last?

Some industrial agricultural pumps are good enough for denatured, but not neccessarily methanol. The Flojet seems to be the most indestructable, but it's not cheap and not many of them are in use.
