Hey guys, i was at Advance auto parts, picking up some parts today, and i decided to go browse the import (i.e. Honda) cheapo "performance" parts, that give those magical power increases. i found some stickers for 30% increase, and i found some valve cover breathers for a 27% proven increase, the neon lights were more, but also more expensive. I then saw something that caught my eye. their 69 dollar 3 inch aluminum intake setups with filter and everything. i opened up the box for the honda civic, it resembles the solid MAF pipes that are sold for our cars, 1 main bend at the turbo inlet, and then you connect the MAF to the other end, and all is good. pretty short. THEN, i found another one, in a bigger box, that was the same 69 bucks, for a 2001 honda Accord. now, THIS one, is a nice item!!! 3 inch diameter polished aluminum pipe, blue silicone 3 inch connections with stainless hose clamps, and a 6 inch long cone filter with the top having another filter sectoin as well. Pretty NICE!. i took it outside, and looked at my stock MAF hose, and took off the hose, and positioned the new pipe. i bought it immediately. heres what you do to make it fit, simply cut off the end that has the vacuum port closest to it, so that it isnt as sharp of a bend, that way, it fits up to the turbo perfectly, and doesnt touch the radiator shroud when mounted. it has a turn at the other end, that faces straight forward into the headlight bucket, where i put the MAF sensor, and the filter is gonna be on the other side of the headlight hole, drawing in cold air. gotta make up a little pipe, but its awesome for only 69 bucks. im gonna take some pics, and throw em up on my website for all to see tommorow. stay tuned.

pipe sounds good but i used one of them filters on my hotair and the intake wheel got sandblasted they dont filter fine enough for our cars

REDS HOT AIR: pipe sounds good but i used one of them filters on my hotair and the intake wheel got sandblasted they dont filter fine enough for our cars

You have some really bad luck with turbos man.

Does it say "TENZO-R" on it though?

Cuz if it doesn't I dont want it. :p

Reds Hot Air, my old filter, wasnt a filter. so my compressor wheel got sandblasted as well. this filter is gonna filter 20000 times better than that old K&N i had. it was 10 years old or so, and had sat behind my grille all that time. it was shot. ill get a better one sometime, but for now, its gonna have to suffice.

""""Does it say "TENZO-R" on it though?

It says nothin at all. just a nice polished aluminum pipe. no tenzo, no APC, no HKS, no Greddy, none of that stuff. it does come with decals, but you put em on if wanted. i chose not to install a 2 foot long APC sticker on the back of my rear window, but, im sure you will pick up some power if you do.

ill take some pics in a sec, and ill post em, this thing kicks @$$.

whats everyone think of it? look good enough to put on your car?

What type of wastegate is that?

Whats up with your up pipe?

I gues you decided against the cruise control and windshied washer:D

The pipe looks ok but you must have a relocated charcoal canister. Mine would not have room for a filter

Wastegate is a Turbonetics deltagate. its kinda dull in that pic, i polished it up this morning to match the nice shiny intake. eh, the up pipe, i am replacing it with a mandrel bent piece. i took a big ball peen hammer to it in an attempt to flatten it out in order ot mount my blow off valve, but, i decided ill just weld some kind of flange on there if i find one. should work just fine. Yep, cruise control worked, but i dont like using cruise. never have, so, i pulled it off for a 3 minute loss of 3 pounds. since my windshield washer pump bit the dust, i decided id yank the associated crap off too. save another few ounces there. i gotta find some weight saving stuff, i dont want to do more to much more to the motor.

and yes, i just yanked my cannister off a long time ago, because the 14 inch K&N i had before wouldnt fit with it on there. so i got a open vapor pipe on my frame rail. i hear its quite simple to just relocate it though, so it shouldnt pose a problem. but it looks so much cleaner without all that clutter.

you could just buy the pipe, and cut it off so that everything fits without interference from the vapor cannister.

that turbo still works fine but the wheel looks like its been sand blasted..:D

pipe looks good ..fits nicely consitering its for a import

thanks Jacob!

I saw your pictures and it looks like that pipe will put my air
filter exactly where I need it for my homemade cold air setup!
It looks awesum on your car too, nice job.
I just ordered mine today.

That's awesome! I have a $200+ credit at Autozone since I WIKEDV6 had the brake sensor I needed instead of replacing the whole pump. Looks like I know what to get with it.:)

I hope it all works out for you guys, i couldnt believe the pipe and all for so cheap. its a great deal. When you get yours on, post some pics. i wanna see em on other cars too. remember you gotta cut off the ends for a different angle. otherwise, it will contact the up pipe, wont fit to the turbo, and will hit the radiator, but adjust the angle, and everything fits perfect.

Remember to send some pics or post em on the board!

Good Info!

Got a part number for those of us without a nearby Advance Auto Parts. :( :D

Thanks!

eh, sorry, threw away my box. autozone should carry them too. just order a APC honda accord intake kit, not for the 3 liter though, for the 4 cylinder
