I received this from my ISP today:

If you get an e-mail message warning you that your PayPal account is about to expire, don't open it. If you open it, don't double-click the attachment. If you double-click the attachment, don't complete the form asking for your credit card information. And if you do fill in the form, call your credit card company immediately.

How It Works: Mimail (pronounced "my mail") arrives in an e-mail that appears to be from PayPal. In very convincing language, it states that your account will expire soon unless you resubmit your credit card information. "We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause," the text politely reads.

The letter even appears concerned about your privacy: "Please do not send your personal information through e-mail, as it will not be as secure." Instead, it asks that you run the attached program. That's where you enter your valuable information, which it then sends to four different e-mail addresses. It also scours your hard drive for new e-mail addresses to send the same bogus message. These messages, like the one you got, are "spoofed" to appear as if they came from PayPal.

Not too often I get warnings from my ISP! Just thought I'd share, maybe it'll save someone some grief...

Good information.

I like how your ISP put it. If you get this, don't do this. If you do that, don' t do this. If you do that, don't do this. If you do that, you're screwed, have a nice day. :)

Thanks Kevin...

I received and opened this yesterday. Did not fill out the info, figured if they already have the info, why would they want it again ? Was getting ready to forget about Paypal, completely.

DANGER DANGER WILL ROBINSON

The criminal Paypal scam is starting up again, I just got a clever, very "official " looking email , with Logos and all, asking for all my bank accounts & credit card info !!

NEVER EVER reveal bank info to unsolicited emails, no matter how "real" it looks.

legitimate companies will ONLY ask you for this info at their own , actual Secure Web site, and never thru an email.

if you receive such an email, I'd advise doing a permanent delete (not just moving it to waste basket). In Outlook- press & hold down SHIFT, then press DELETE.

Lets stick this to the top for a week or 2.
If anyone has anymore info about this scam please let us know.

Thanks Buick From Hell & BuickGn Boosted for this information

Watch out on Ebay too.

I have received two messages which looked exactly like they came from Ebay. Both requested all of my personal account information including credit. The link to send looks just like Ebay's address. Do not fill in any blocks or use any of the links.

But Ebay didn't know about either of them. The first thing I do is go to Ebay's home site and send a message to them about the email. They need to track these guys and knock them out.
