Was it Dan Smith that upgraded ECM's for use with bigger injectors and ran 3 stacked steel shim head gaskets? If so, I need to ask him a question. Is he still on this board? Anyone have his e-mail?
i know dan did the ecm's,couldn't tell you about the headgaskets.i wish he'd come back .i'd have loved to see his response to some of the debates we've had around here lately.
he left because he got sick of people hammering him for speaking his mind.it got to be one big pain in the ass.i was e-mailing back and forth with him for a while, haven't heard from him much recently.
i did talk to a friend of his in bg this summer who said dan has been going thru some hard times lately and had to get rid of his tr.he still has the drivetrain and was keeping his eyes open for a donor vehicle.
i personally miss having dan around too,he really knows his sh!t and refuses to take any from anyone.you should have seen the flamewars we used to have in the old hotair section when he and tta89 used come in and start talking smack.funny stuff....
He ran into some recent personal problems, dont know all the details, but yeah I think he was stacking head gaskets too. It was pretty cool that he definately wasnt afraid to experiment.......so that we wouldnt have to!
Dan has been very busy these days with his new job. heck it's been close to two months since i have talked to him. I dont think he is out of the game just yet because he was on the lookout for a 71 el camino to put his tr moter into and my garage full of his tr parts
Hey whats up Leo, thats encouraging to hear about Dan. I know he always liked the Turbo El Camino idea, both he and my youngest brother had talked about it before.
Hows the car running? Been to the track lately?
