Alright once again I discover yet another problem. I was wondering why it seemed that I had to tighten the WG awful tight to get higher boost. The top mounting bolt hole on the turbo compressor for the WG is stripped. I remember seeing this problem before on some stock turbos. This is on my TA33. I dont see any way to tap it for a bigger bolt or heli-coil it, just not enough room between compressor and exhaust housings. Do I have to dissassemble the turbo just to fix this? Surely someone else has gone through this. Please share your experiences.
I recently tuned to where I can get 25lbs with no KR and the car feels like a freight train. It is pulling MUCH stronger than when I ran the time in the sig below. However boost levels tend to be inconsistent (sometimes only 18lbs in 1st, then jumps to 22-23 in 2nd....). I know this is attributed to the WG pulling away from the compressor under boost with the rod tight. I am also experiencing something from the engine that I can only describe as a "fluttering" sound and bogging (no KR). Could be too much methanol, or maybe plugs need tighter gapping than current .032? OR... could it also be coming from the WG issue? The needle on the boost gauge starts going crazy when it reaches peak boost level, shaking back and forth.
TIA for any help.
