So, on a different thread, it looks as if i'm having some problems with my wastegate not closing properly. Here is a link to the other thread regarding my current problems.

http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/showthread.php?t=196059

So, if this is in fact my problem, how do I go about confirming it, and fixing it? Am I looking at rebuilding the wastegate, need a new one? or can it be adjusted? I don't want to take the wastegate apart blind....

Thanks for any input.

What size turbo? Is the W.G. hole bigger then the puck? Does the W.G. puck cover the W.G. hole all the way? Just this last week I had a customers car that had a B.G. housing that didn't cover the W.G. hole totally. Boost rise was slow & would'nt go over 14 psi. Put a new D.P. on it and now it works great. hope this helps.

My turbo is a TE45A, with a Terry Huston downpipe. I bought the car built the way it is...so I would hope/assume the sizes all match up. The guy I bought it off of seemed to know his stuff, I sometimes wonder though.. I'm not very experienced wrenching on this sort of thing, so I'm sending it to the local performance shop in the AM to help diagnose my problems.

In terms of the W/G hole being bigger than the puck, when I first bought the car, it staged fine, and spooled up fairly quick, but not anymore. Couldn't even do a burnout on my second run at the track last week. (pretty embarrasing, esp since one of the track employees was taking a pic of my car as I was SUPPOSED to be making a smoke show.)
