Is it ok to leave it unplugged for a while....I have a TT 93 chip which has boost @ 17psi (PT51 turbo) but here in a bit, I'm installing a G-body parts stock location IC in place of the stocker, and am worried about overboosting. I'm going to get a boost controller, w/ alky to soon follow but in the mean time, any adverse effects driving the car around w/ the solenoid unplugged? Tried searching and didn't really find what I was looking for.

Any help appreciated...

~Bryan.

You can unhook the hoses, but you gotta leave the electrical connector, connected, or it will trip a trouble code everytime you build boost.
Either run a manual bleeder valve, or run the hose from the actuator to the compressor cover, aka "Tuner Style".

Appreciate the reply, I have a few MBC's laying around, I'll throw one for the time being.

eric usually takes the flag for wastegate solenoid out of the chip since most who go to his chip would be running some form of aftermarket boost control.
unplugging it it shouldnt make any difference , no codes should show and no ses light on dash.

with the chip the 93 octane can usually only take you to 17 psi which is what he puts on the chip as a guideline due to the 93 octane limitations and it should have enough fuel for that boost , if you add octane (or in your case lowering the inlet temps helps a little too) youll be able to raise the boost but youll need adjust the fueling accordingly (watch your scanmaster O2 ) , erics chips are adjustable for fuel and you are raising the duty cycle of the injector in the chip to get this but if if your injectors are pushed to 100% adding fuel will only help you until that point which may not be enough to complete a 1/4mile pass without starting to lean .

Just put a vacuum cap on the open port. All else being correct, this will limit boost to whatever the wastegate actuator is adjusted to - stock unmodified actuator is ~11 lbs.

I did not know that about his TT chips. Looks like I learned something new. I wonder if he does the same on his race chips? If so, this means I can completely remove the one off of Sarah  Very good, less clutter.
Thanks for the heads up.

with TT you can yank the egr solenoid and valve off as well , no ses
and for that matter once your blms are learned you dont need the O2 sensor to run either, youll be running blind if you race but if youve ever smoked an o2 and your blms go high as the car goes pig rich trying to compensate for a dieng sensor then just unplug the O2 (and leave it unplugged) reset the ecm and you can get back on the road with no issues since youll be running open loop (as you do when you go wot) with no further blm correction

with the new 5.6 chips of his and the range of fuel and timing adjustment there really is no need for a dedicated race chip anymore unless you just want to have a pop it in and be close race chip for when you run race fuel .
most in the know would advise against runnig a street chip at the track (before TT) . the difference on the TT race would be usually more base fuel for the higher expected running boost and more base timing and maybe even a little more launch assist for the race fuel iyou are going to run . if opted it may be burned for the fast update which is nice when running a scanmaster to better track O2 and Kr , you can get fast update on a street chip but it doesnt allow for malfunction codes to be read through a scanmaster and the code wont work with most auto shop aldl scantools
my fastest pass was on a custom TT street chip 5.4 version running 93 and alky , and its not an alky chip :)
