Facing the front of the motor there is a long bolt to the left of the water pump, not part of the water pump. Water is spewing out of the back of it! What is this bolt and why would water be coming out if it??? Thanks, R.B.

several of the bolts on the front cover go through into the waterjacket.

Post pics

Why would water start spewing out all at once? What is this bolt for?

Without pics it's hard to say, but whatever the case pull it out, put some thread sealer on it and reinstall.

I thought

there were going to be pics?? Make sure the girl pointing out the bolt has on a very revealing bikini or somethng sexy.

Sir,

the bolt your speaking of does go into the water jacket. It can and often is used as the retaining bolt for the bracket that holds the Intercooler on. Fix by draining the coolant or having someone hold there finger over the hole once you remove the bolt and place a gob of blue rtv on the threads and replace the bolt. Had the same issue when I was tinkering with my intercooler. If you are adding a new intercooler and ommiting the original just drain fluid and go to the local hardware store and get a shorter bolt that would be sufficient length to thread a minimum of four threads without the bracket and extension.

This sounds like one of the bolts for the timing chain cover. The cover is the passage for the coolant to get from the pump to the block. If it did like mine the gasket let go and started spewing coolant. It could also be just getting past the threads and getting out past the bottom side of the head. Jon Hanson

I tightened that bolt about a turn and a half and it quit leaking. Now, it appears to be leaking at the gasket behind the bolt on the far top right side of the timing chain cover! What causes these gaskets to blow? Never seen this before. Do i just have to replace the timing chain cover gasket? Can they be found at the local parts stores? Is the oil pump part of this cover? Do I have to remove the cam sensor also? Sorry for all the questions! Thanks, R.B.
