Have really bad waterspots on my windshield. Polish, 0000 steel wool, waterspot remover...all dont work. I know there is a kit that uses a high speed buffer but I dont have one. Are there any other tricks?

Here is a trick I learned years ago... use Chrome polish with 0000 steel wool.. it WILL take off the water spots.. use some elbow grease, son!

Any kind o chrome polish? Have many types of polishes...mothers???

Wouldn't the chrome polish leave marks if it's an abrasive polish? (like turtle wax)?

I too am curious.

Try this....... get some muriatic acid. Wear rubber gloves and saturate a rag with the acid and rub the water spots. You should see a very good improvement with no damage to glass of course.

There was a post a while back where John (Red Regal) had said that the muratic acid would work on the water spots, and it did seem to make some improvement to the window I tried it on, but I was too paranoid to keep using it around the car...I have to replace the riveted window guide and I'm going to try it again once the window is out. If that doesn't work, I've got a Makita buffer that I'll use on it;)

chrome polish and steel wool. It really works!! Takes a lot of elbow grease though:mad:
