hello people; Is there such a thing as a thicker oil that does the same as WD-40? I have some rust in a area that sucks. When you open the drivers door it's near the hinges.
What I do is hit the area with WD to slow it down buts it's so light it doesn't really last long. I know what WD means.
any ideas?

hello; That stuff is new to me. Do you like the aerosol or pump? With the WD I have a gal. of it and just keep adding to the pump bottle. I guess it would work like that with the FF?
I'm going to try it.
thanks

Mix some WD-40 & some motor oil together. That's what I used to protect freshly machined surfaces from a humid environment. WD-40 is actually a Water Displacer more than a protectant.

I have used it on my plow and plow frame during the winter and when I store it away for the summer. My plow always has a dirty film on it after sitting all summer under a tarp out side even on the places the tarp doesn't cover well.

I use the aerosol can and it's a fairly thick consistency unlike WD40. I don't see why you couldn't use a pump bottle but it may be too thick I don't know.

We use fluid film at work a lot. I'm in fleet maintence so its nice to know stuff is gonna be nice when i need to do something with it later. Just pretty expensive stuff is all, about 15bucks a can here in canada.

my oil cooler line o-ring let loose so im good to go on rust proofing:eek:

Pick up some slick50 aerosol spray. Ace hardware has it. The stuff will last months. Check it out.;)

There was a test done between WD40 and other rust preventatives .

WD40 was the worst.

Break Free CLP is great protection for your guns. It last much longer than WD40.

What I used on my door one time was a chain lube/preservative. It was thick..
