I am not a fan of this look thought I was on a different site at first I like the black background way better.

Thats just the default theme. This is whats in the works.

I may see if I can get a black and white background version. I dont think thats too difficult to change.

Under preferences there is a "black option" that looks like the old site. I tried it but the web page was not rendering properly when that option was selected.
