Ok I've tried the TV cable in many different adjustments and even with it shifting through 1-2-3 at part throttle too soon, it still stays in 2nd at WOT..does that mean it's something to do with the governor spring? Anyone know what's going on here?

--just cranked up the fuel pressure and now it's starting to haul..hehe

I think if the governor spring was out it would have a hard time shifting out of 1st.

Sounds like your TV cable is out. The way to set it up is, press the button on the side and let the cable go back towards the firewall. Now grab the throttle and open it to WOT and it should pull it to the proper position.

From here you can move it 1 notch at a time for fine tuning.

Going back 1 notch will increase the RPM before shifting (later shift) and letting it out 1 notch will allow the shift to happen at a lower RPM (early shift).

Good Luck ;)

Set the tv up to stock like granny2 said and go from there. You have a tach? Shifts should occur around 46-4800. Is the tranny new? Mean Buicks works for TCI and could be of help to you.
Could the gov be sticking? Will it shift if you let off the throttle a little?

Yes I have to let off for it to shift from 2nd gear, it will shift out of 1st and 3rd fine it seems. I don't have an accurate tach besides the Scanmaster, but it's definently winding higher than 4800 in 2nd. I just readjusted it, about to go and try again...thanks for the ideas guys, keep em coming..

?

Send MeanBuicks a pm,he can prob help you. How does it do if you manually shift? Does it hit the rev limit?

You should never play with the TV cable. Just set it right and leave it alone. Too loose will fry the trans in a matter of feet. Ask me how I know this. Sounds like it is too late for you.
