Weird idle,hesitates.....

I just got my 87 t-type limited running,but the car idles funny.It doersn't stall or anything,the rpm's just go up and down slightly at idle.The car also hesitates when I first hit the gas,and it doesn't feel like it has much power with the gas about 1/4 down,but any more and it goes like mad.Any ideas what's wrong with it?Thanks for any help

What did you do to your car that you "just got it running"?
Kinda sounds like maybe a vacuum leak or something,
I would start by checking all the vacuum lines, and make sure
the mass air flow intake hose is tight, and free of any extra
air getting in after the mass airflow sensor.
Start with the easy stuff first

I thought the transmission was broken,but my dad fixed it.It was something with the shifter.I just added new plugs,wires,a K&N air filter,changed the oil to synthetic,changed the transmission fluid,and filter,put new mufflers on.The car was sitting for almost 2 years before this.
