weird shifts

I recently adjusted my TV cable and ever since have been having crappy shifts when in 3rd and OD. Before the car shifts it feels like the car is pushing back at me and then shifts. The car is fine when manually shifted. I tried adjusting it back to the way it was and no luck. I want to try to fix this problem before ordering one of Bruces kits. Thanks

Was the tranny acting up before you tried you tried to adjust the t.v. cable?If it wasnt get help adjusting it back to where it was or it could hurt your tranny.

No it was fine before i adjusted it. Today I adjusted it back and it seems to be better but I can't tell if it is just staying in gear longer, and somtimes it feels like it is pushing back at me before it changes gears. I'am keep playing with it.

Can you tell us more about the tranny?Is it stock?Or modified?How many miles?That pushing back at you feeling could be "the 3rd gear slide" we usually encounter when the clutches start to glaze.

The trans has 5000miles on a stock rebuild. I was driving the car today and it's still acting the same it's the 1/2 shift it reves up pushes back at me and then shifts into second. I adjusted the TV cable by me holding the button in on the cable and then sombody inside the car floor the pedal. Oh yeah I also added a quart of fluid to the trans at the same time I adjusted the cable and after driving the car I found the fluid level to be over filled by about a quart. You think the TV pressure reg could be acting up?

Tv cable out of adjustment for stsarters, that is not the way to do it, it's out WAAYYY! too far. Do a search on hear for the proper procedure it's been written many times.
