well i still have the stock GTA fuel pump in there...Trasher 92 chip..with a 237 regulator..well eh um...i'm only getting 41-42#'s of FP at idle DOH!

I just checked the pressure at the rail after turning the car off, took about the 20-30 minutes to lose pressure(slowly went down)

I doubt it's the injectors but ya never know...i need to get the walbo 340 in there...could it be the injectors too? i also have a vac. leak at the vac. block...

how do i check for this vaccum leak on my car?? I thing im running lean also?? thanks

FP LOW??

If the 237 has 40+ psi at idle.. there's nothing wrong w/ that number. However, an adjustable reg must be used to set PSI to 45 where the THRASHER is supposed to work at.
You should be looking at WOT for a number that matches base PSI PLUS the boost.;)
The TTA pump is most likely FUBAR after all these yrs. The 340 and a hot wire kit would be high on my list. PLUS a good adj. reg.

HTH,

chuck, i thought the 237 regulator was a 45# regulator, i was told you need 45#'s at idle for a thrasher, hell i'm only showing like 41#'s at idle...though i DO have a vacumn leak on the 3 forward most vac. lines coming off the vac. block(the plastic things broke) so i have to get a new one

Vac leakz

I'd call Cotton and get an alum block made w/ a port for vac brake line on the TTA.
I think 1 of those ports is the line to the regulator, right? If so, then no vac. also means no boost to raise the FP under boost.. A DEFINATE NO NO!!
As for 45 out of a 237.. I don't think so. Get a good billet FPR and put it on when you get the vac. block.
THEN we can start to T/S this beast!!

i'm getting a billet one from Kirban....ok, so maybe that would explain my knocking, if the regulator doesn't send the boost no rise in FP, gotcha, and don't worry i don't beat on the car, took us 3 days to get the motor in running and drivable, no way i'm gonna get stupid and blow the motor up :)

I don't know why everyone is so concerned with 45psi vac off.
I have a Thrasher 100, and it idles nice at 45psi, but the car runs way too rich.
I had my fuel pressure at 39psi vac off with the Thrasher and it ran good. Idle was a little lopey, but not bad.
This year after the powerplate and a front mount Ford IC, i started with the pressure at 45psi with 21psi boost and alky.
Guess what.
It's back to 39psi again due to the car still being too rich.
I'm sure the alky is helping to richen the mixture.
45psi is just a starting point, as every car will react different.
Good luck!
