I got a call last night from one of the fellows I work with, he said "I need a favor."

I was like, "Sure, what's up?"

So he says "The X\finity Team isn't happy with the way the suspension on the car acted when Joey Logano drove it last week, and I need to use your shop tomorrow so that they can swap it out."

Again, I was like "Sure"....................then it hit me...... "Wait, you're serious?"

He simply said "Yes"...... you could have knocked me over with a feather.

How cool is this? They flew these guys in from North Carolina to get this done.

That would be Dick Simon standing next to the car.

With the exception of the 22 Car work, Absolutely NOTHING is getting done in my shop today.....:p

These guys don't mess around!

Scales, laser sited measurements, levels, compound squares........... the attention to detail is absolutely astounding. All of this while keeping cool and calm and being nice enough to answer every question from the multitude of employees and a few select customers that have passed by today......... and there are over 650 employees on this campus.

These guys are truly Pro's.

I honestly could not have been more proud than to have had them pick this particular shop to do these repairs.

bad part was the dang thing had no "carbatator" on it so we didn't get to hear it run........... :(:(

Wow that is cool, nice shop! Did you get them to "tweak" your Buick?

They looked at and complimented it, but they weren't willing to go to work on her.....

if there isn't a carburetor on it, then what was the air cleaner screwed down to?

"Wrote a little song about it, here how it go"..... :D

It's not screwed to anything, it was sitting on the front clip and distributor cap. If you look closely it's sitting at quite an angle and the hole on top is taped off.

All X\finity races are restrictor plate races and NASCAR controls the restrictor plates until it is time to install them, a process which is seriously monitored by them.

The plates are newly issued by NASCAR officials at each and every race after an initial car inspection in the Garage area and just before testing begins.

Without the plate, the carburetor can't be installed. They must return the plate for inspection after the race and NASCAR keeps them.

They can put the carb on without the plate.. or you could have had someone distract them while you slam a carb on it and take it outside for some sweet donuts..
