Hi guys, I need some help. I am getting about 10-13 city mpg and its killing me. I have a wests coasts non lock up converter with 3500-3800 stall.

210/205 cam
pt54
champion heads
front mount
42.5's
car runs at about 170 without ac

I am not sure wether to spend the money on a new converter and setup a locking system again with a 2300-2500 stall converter for better ga mleage or just to re-stall my non lock up?

some guys on he board are selling neal chance converters. are they any good as far as ballooning and for my set up? the car is a street car not track car, and i need mileage, dont mind giving up some lauch but dont want terrible pigishh launch either????

I would talk to Bill and have that restalled for a 2800-3000 non-lock up.With a 54 or TE-61 turbo, ported heads and cam, that is all you need.
If you are looking for fuel mileage a 3000 stall lock up will work even better.
A 3000 stall will be MUCH better than a 3500-3800. You will also gain some on shift feel from taking out some of the stall.
 
I agree with Brian. Go with a 3000 L/U. With your setup you don't need anymore than that. :)
