well the tiny o-ring from my fuel-pre-reg, was leaking and i said ok, i call my mechanic and he explains how to do it, getting it off was easy but OMG!!! TO put the dam thing back in %$#@# , well after two hours i gave up, now i know why the buick mechanics charge what they do , i almost took out my ar-15 and sprayed it , now i'm out over some small o-ring

the o-ring went in perfect it's the mounting the fuel pre-reg back to the rail that has me going nuts, i just came back from trying again and still no luck!!

MAKE SURE YOUR BATTERY IS DISCONNECTED!!!!

It is very easy to accidentally hit the back of the altenator with the wrench and cause a spark.

you guys are 100% right, i did hit the altenator and did cause a spark but luckly it was while unscrewing a screw the fuel lines were still on. I will remove the bbattery wire.

question, when placeing the fuel-pres-reg back on the rail, do you just have to push hard so that it goes in or should it fit inside easily? the o-ring on the regulator is in perfect condition, is that the trick to it just squezing(?) it in? thanks for the help guys

should be able to get enough bite to start bolts then draw it in, if no then get a couple longer bolts to draw it in then swap, and grease up the O-ring

And I at least get 2 threads on fuel line, prolly what i hate more then anything is trying to start either fuel lines, tranny lines or brake lines if theres the least amount of pressure on em

Make sure the regulator is seating straight. You could pinch the o-ring. I usually have to put it in place and then rotate back and forth while pushing into the fuel rail. Then I seat it the rest of the way with the mounting bolts.

your right!, i went back out to try it again and i thought i had it but as you said, it was'nt sitting right and leak'd again , i would rather pay $100 bucks or more to have someone come out and install it, then to go back out there

I hope you get the O ring dilemma figured out. Shouldn't be too tough. As for me, I tried to tighten my tilt steering column. I was following the directions from gnttype.org, got 1/2 way and decided I would put the steering wheel back on and take it to my mechanic. Car is sitting right now in my garage, waiting to get it to the shop.
