I searched the forums but coudln't find anything. What should i use on the magnet inside the rear end cover? I didn't know that it was glued on, so i took it off to clean it while changing the fluid. Whatever was used before was really hard and i had to use a screwdriver and razor to remove it from the cover. J-B weld, black rtv, epoxy?

I used JB Weld to attach the magnet to my deep aluminum trans pan. Has held up for 10 years now. Scuff up the surface a bit where you will be putting the magnet and make sure you use some lacquer thinner to degrease the area so it will stick. Don't need a loose magnet bouncing around in the rearend.
