Methanol will kill your pump about 80 times faster than isopropyl so you might want to start planning on one soon...

But it does make more power and suppress knock better, as you have seen

Is that the same theory that's covered under the mystery oil in you're alky reservoir that I never used? We'll see.........

Why don't you guys just use a 50/50 mix of methanol/water? It's cheap!! Any washer fluid that's blue and says "water and methanol" will work, and is usually ~$1.00 per gallon :)
Straight from snowperformance.net FAQ:
Can I use windshield washer fluid?
Although most contain some glycol and detergent, most windshield washer fluids are up to 50% alcohol (methanol, ethanol, isopropanol) and make an execellent boost cooler. Try to find one that indicates "contains methanol".

What ratio of Water?methanol is recommended?
A 50/50 ratio is recommended. This has been demonstrated to be the best for charge/air cooling, decent fuel octance increase, and controlling cylinder temperature. Using more Methanol causes greatly increased cylinder temperature.
Why methanol?
Methanol is a high octane fuel that is extremely resitant to detonation with an excellent cost/benefit ration ($1.50 - $2.00 per gallon.) It's high latent heat of vaporization also make it an excellent air charge cooler which means a denser mixture and more horsepower. Because of these facts, it is better anti-detonant than ethanol or iso-propanol although they will work in a pinch. It has however only about 60% of the energy content of gasoline by volume so about twice as much is used to make similar power. It is extremely toxic and should be handled with rubber gloves in well ventilated areas only. Care should be taken to avoid skin contact.

Just throwing out other options. Any reason to stay away from these people?

I tried washer fluid, worked ok, but nothing like pure denatured. I can run almost twice as much alky without the water add, so the end result was alot more boost without knock.

HEY........THAT SOUNDS LIKE A GREAT IDEA. SO WHO'S WASHER FLUID HAS THE MOST OCTANE? WALMART? K-MART? OR DO YOU THINK I SHOULD GO WITH THE HIGH PRICED STUFF AT PEPBOYS......??:D

Actually John that's a very good question. ;)

That stuff is all different and not always methanol based.

Not sure the concentrations are labeled either.

I prefer to mix my own less corrosive stuff. Ethanol based.

With the lube. :)
