Anybody know how a 200R4 would act with a stretched TV cable? I've got a newly rebuild trans in my GN and to achieve firm shifts, the cable needs to be pulled several clicks towards the firewall, leaving me with early 1-2 and 2-3 shift points.

That is just the way they are stock.

I have a .19 cent part that will fix that. or........

Install a PTS shift kit ( I say PTS cause I know I put the part in there that will help this)and that will go away. You will have all the adjustment you will need and then some :) Bruce

WOW! PTS shift kits cost $0.19! (is that shipped, or is there a hidden S&H charge?)

Hey WE4! Thanks for the reply. What is this cheap part you are talking about?????

If I need to put a shift kit in my fresh rebuild from Coan, I'm gonna make them pay for it since they told me the trans would shift firm after it was done.

Any comments on that one????? He used some of your parts in there, c'mon!!!!

Man , I am sorry, but you asked....

What did I say to upset you?

I didn't mean to demean you.

As far as a "comment" I just add a shim down on the bottom to give you more throw on the top and to coil bind tv spring at wot.
Maybe he didnt but I dont recall sending him a SK.
I just sold them the parts , I did not put it together or set up the hydraulic control.

Anyway if you want to install shim , let me know, no big deal...

Not mad bud!

Hey, WE4!

Man, that's one thing I hate about emails and the internet. I'm not mad about anything, but after I read my reply again, I guess you could read it that way. I was actually trying to be funny. Sorry about that, Bruce.

I would be interested in shimming the TV if it will make my shift points a bit farther out. I mean, the way it shifts now is O.K., but could be better.

Am I doing any harm to the new clutches by having the TV cable pulled that far back so early on in it's life?

Thanks again, Bruce, and I promise I'll stop using exclamation points. :D

Well first you might contact who built and ask them . Second , if you would like to try this it is easy to install and very very cheap to do, Gimme call at shop to arrange if you like. Thanks and don't sweat the small stuff Tom...:D

AT LEAST YOU DIDN'T SHOUT !!! :D Tom, when you get the kit, I can help out. I can't talk Ramin into doing one of these yet, so you need to get one. I still may be able to come up for the car show this Saturday. My son can read the VB schematic for the check balls also :D , Bruce knows. And if we don't get the S pin in the VB plunger, I can fix that without removing the VB, just using the shift linkage  . One less "what have I done" call to Bruce :p Don't know if you talked to Sean, but he got his engine fired up last night.
