a good stout shortblock with a good forged crank,rods,pistons etc. how far can you push a 109 block with HP numbers?? reason for asking ,i know a guy who has a gN with all the right goodies except a basically stock bottom end and i was considering buying the car. i want a high 5 sec 1/8 mile car out of it.......

Done right $3500.-$6500. depending on machine work involved. I spent $4200. on machine and assembly plus some of the parts like roller cam-i think in total i have about $6K into my shortblock.

unopened all stock bottom end 600 hp is the limit and pushing it. Some people may be doing it I am reffering to other than the select few.

short block -Girdle, full forged, B&B'd, arp, roller cam, oil mods, etc
parts, machining and assem around 4.5k or more

A full built as described bottom end will taken 9 second passes without a blink
