This one goes out to all the 84 Grand National guys....could you please be nice enough to tell me what color your steering column is?

Mine is somewhat metallic bluish?! Is this the correct color?

The owner before me super glued a gauge to it, and sure enough when I yanked it off it took off some paint. Just looking to get it the way to looked from the factory.

Thanks alot for your help!

Does your column's color exactly match your dash? Ever stolen??? Punched and replaced columns are common.

What could have happened is that piece had to be replaced for one reason or anothe Replacement trim pieces from GM are no longer pre-colored and for whatever reason blue seems to be the favorite color for molding these pieces. You can get the actual trim code from the RPO label under the trunk lid and any good paint supplier can mix some up for you......

Most likely the peice was replaced....with 118,000 Miles, and several owners it would be a shocker to see it being the original one!

But as my question asked......Someone please look on their 84 GN, and tell me what color it is.

Herb,
My car has charcoal grey steering column. I have not looked what color it is past the dash? Hope this helps.

Thanks alot for your help...

After some digging, and some discussion with Nick (TType84) We came up with that the steering column is supposed to match the wheel/horn ring!

After a few hours of masking I will paint mine tommrow. I will be happy to get rid of the blue color that dosen't belong in my interior!

I don't really care what it looks like under the dash...noones going to see that!
