You don't see many tta guys in the lounge, because there AREN'T any tta guys LEFT lol. I love tta's. They look good, and are very fast. I just can't drive F bodies well, cuz I'm a little short, and I don't like having 38 feet of additional car in front of me, and not be able to see every inch of it, and where exactly it ends. Still love 'em though.

Oh come on meow, there has to be a few of them left :p

this is even rarer than the TATA 4spd cars themselves

1979 pacecar argent /red "official pacecar" "daytona 500" door legends and the nascar 1/4 graphics (legends) with the box as they were shipped for gm ...

DAYUM, I got mine from Phoenix Graphics and was never happy:eek:but then again I am one picky SOB:p

My first 10th auto i found in a barn when i was 14, eventually painted it when i got out of high school. I could not afford the hood bird for it, so i painted the entire car 94 trans am silver and put those daytona 500 decals on the doors and nascar on the 1/4s...

They were 3M reproductions.

I was the only kid in high school with 2 cars, both were auto 10ths :)
The 4 speed came later... All gone :frown:

10th tata

10th tata So i found some old Polaroids of my car from 1990 i was 14.

These are the photos of it in the barn, there is no organization of the album, i cant figure out how to reorganize them without loosing other links???

My 4spd 10th is the one with the 67 bird and 73 trans am.

Now after going thru these photos, this 10th was my first car, i found the vin number for it 2X87K9L160684 would be nice to find out where it may be....

I need to go thru my photo album with all 3 together...

Sorry for the tata hyjack

Love to own a TTA, but wouldn't give up the GN to do so. Had a white GTA which looked identical to a TTA, should have kept it and swaped in a turbo 6, as I sold it cheap and it was solid. Most people around here have no idea what a TTA is, but they all know what the 'Black Monte' is....lol.

If I bought one, I'd try to find a hardtop with cloth.

Ttaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa'sssssssssssssss

Got to love them, I been sanding on one all day!

Just about the baddest thing ever when they came out in 1989. My favorite car a Trans Am, with my favorite power plant, turbo-intercooled grand national motor. Paced the INDY 500 without any modification beyond lighting and safety equipment.

Watched one shut my buddy with a 5.0 mustang up.

SALUTE

I wasn't around for the 70s but growing up in the "corporate era" I've never known anything else. My first car was a 88 Grand AM which had the 2.3 Quad 4 engine. Most powerful 4 cylinder of the era at 150HP. The quad 4 was a oldpeoplesmobile engine. Did it bother me that much? Nope. Certainly much better than the worthless Iron Duke Pontiac engine that couldn't get out of its own way. I was overjoyed to have the better engine.

As far as the late 70s and early 80s go in the Trans Am, Pontiac had the 301 which was like 150hp? Why complain about something else going in it with somewhat more respectable power like the Olds 403 which was 200 or so.

I could care less which division makes it, if its better I want it. I've never really understood the brand whining about where from GM the engine comes from. I mean my Cobalt has a saab engine, not exactly the type of folks you would expect performance from, but its a brillant engine.

That engine kept evolving until the '92 Achieva ACX came out with 190hp, pretty peppy for that car.

i had one of those too
88 grand am 2dr 5spd stick olds Quad 4 HO... little car was awesome daily driver

needed a little more room and went to a hand me down 85 cavalier wagon 2.0chevy 4cyl 4spd stick no options other than power brake, with code 19 lacquer paint ....not the fastest thing on wheels but ran over 200k on that getting 35+mpg with only needing replacement of the fork bushings, clutch and hyd slave at around 135k
then went to the dsm i still drive 90 plymouth laser RS 2.0 4cyl 16v 5spd stick 35mpg , 210k and still getting 30+mpg with only issue along the way being the alternator and a waterpump around 180k ,

I feel the turbo regals have aged better. TTAs are nice, but that body sytle, at least to me, will always be synonomus with mullets, whitesnake, and members only jackets. A decade I just as soon forget!

Ahhhhh...All the tata's that have made their way into a TTA post :D
Those are some very rare items that pacecarta has!
Ty, now everyone is going to know about you playing with my wife's tata :)
*
On a side note...I actually drove the TTA today..keep thinking I want to sell it then I drive it and it blows me away everytime...have to say too that a stock TTA accelarates way faster than a stock GN, at least mine does compared to my GN..hell it seems more responsive to just a little bit of throttle compared to my modified GN.

Back to the TATA's...yeah I have a few TA's too :)
