Got my car to the track today, here's the list of mods I've done so far.

Was about 75 degrees at the time of the run. I had 4 gallons of 104 mixed with a 1/4 tank of 93. Car weighed 3535 with driver. 18 PSI in tires.

I'm still pretty new to the turbo Buicks, so what do you guys think?

I made a run later and got a 1.80 60' and was feeling a 12 second pass coming on, but I blew an intercooler clamp off!

Those are some good 60' times on the Nittos! I was cutting 2.0 60's and cut a 1.83 just one time when it cooled off. Don't see too many people cutting 1.8's on the Nittos unless they have a pretty good suspension setup. I had about 15 PSI in the Nittos and launched at 5lbs boost.

I ran very similar times to you on a couple 13.0 runs and a 12.9 run. I had a couple mph extra in the 1/8 and 1/4 but only a 2.0 60'. When I cut the 1.8 60's I turned a 12.59 in the 1/4 so if you get a couple more mph in the 1/8 and 1/4 you'll be right there.

I was also using a 100 octane chip with stock turbo, stock intercooler w/ dutt neck, and almost stock injectors. I have a higher stall convertor so it helps me in the 1/8th but hurts the 1/4mph some. You could try locking your convertor if you aren't already and try turning up the boost to 20-21lbs, keeping an eye on knock.

You have a pretty light car so you should be able to hit 12's soon. Your times/mph look right where they should be with 100 octane and 19lbs boost (assuming stock turbo/intercooler). With your injectors you should be covered to low 12's. You probably won't get much lower 60's on the Nittos so increasing your mph with more boost and/or locking convertor is your best bet.

I can run 21lbs boost on a 100 octane chip on 100% 100 octane unleaded with a splash of C16. I have a new 100 octane chip with a little less timing in third so I can try 22-23lbs boost on 100 octane. You'll need to run more octane than a mix of 104 with 93 to run more boost safely. Maybe try mixing 6 gallons 112 or 116 with the least amount of 93 octane as you can. After the runs fill it up with the 93 to try and save the O2 sensor. I'd bring a spare O2 sensor and a wrench to change it to be safe. Do this and I'm sure you'll break nicely into the 12's on a 70 something degree day.

Completely 17 year old suspension. No new bushings, airbags or bigger sway bars.

I think I could use some new 980 vavlesrpings, I just need to get the tool from Kirbans.

Everything that wasn't mentioned in my first post is stock. turbo, intercooler, TC....

All the runs later that day were the same tune, and I was getting around 3 KR each run below 6 mph. I think it's time to put my poly motor mounts I have laying around in.

Not bad, but I think you've got a few more mph of trap speed in it. Try a TCC lockup switch. Lock it at the line when you stage.
I went 12.7's@104-105 with a RA-93 chip, adjustable WG actuator, Kirban AFPR, Racetronix pump and HW kit, Mease big-neck IC, 2800 converter, solid MAF pipe/8” K&N, billet inlet bell, converter and fan switches, bypassed TB hoses, Scanmaster and 235-60/15 DR’s. That was at 19-20psi with 100 octane mixed in 2:1 with 93. This was through the stock catback with stock injectors.
I think you should be able to lauch it harder on those DR's. I frequently was cutting 1.7's on my little 235/60 DR's...on those big 275's, you should too.

With the Nittos, people have been telling me they have to be broken in well and even then, you need to have a big burnout for them to hook well. Since these are my daily drivers, I've only been doing modest burnouts. BFG DR's hook much better, I'm told, but are not as street friendly as the Nittos and don't last as long. I also have ET Streets, but just wanted to see what I could do with the Nittos first. They basically hook like crap compared to the ET Streets and it was a miracle I got a 1.8, IMO. My goal is 1.6's on the ET Streets.

If you are cutting 1.8's already, I don't think you need to worry too much about your suspension. Seems like its doing fine. Main thing is trying to get a few more mph to get into the 12's. As far as valvesprings, seems like your mph is right where it should be without locking the converter and at only 19lbs boost on a stock turbo. Just need more boost!

Next mods you may consider are a modified intercooler, like a dutt neck, and a good downpipe like the Terry Houston that replaces the stock elbow. You are talking $600 or so, but these will be good upgrades before getting a bigger turbo. With race gas and a race chip you should be looking at lower 12's. Both of my cars are stock turbos and your numbers look great for your chip and octane you are using.

In my experience, a big-neck IC isn't worth the money.
Put that money toward a bigger turbo, a downpipe or something that'll give real gains instead of "smoke and mirrors".
The Mease big-neck IC I was running was beautiful, but on my combo, I gained nothing.
Going to a TA49 and Mease 3" DP, I immediately gained .6-.8 and 6-7mph.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I was planning on a THDP or te44 as my next project.

BTW, my 2 60' that were 1.81 and 1.80 were from heating the nittos up pretty good. Lot's of smoke.

Thanks for the info. Lots of people just clean off DR's or street tires with a small burnout, but it looks like the Nittos benefit from a nice big burnout. 1.7s on Nittos would be sweet, maybe you can cut one next time at the track since you are so close already.

An upgraded convertor should give you a nice performance gain also. You need to look at how you drive your car, etc to see what you want for the next upgrade. I love having the bigger convertor, makes the car much more fun to drive on the street. I'd look to upgrade the downpipe before turbo though. No sense having any restrictions for a bigger turbo. I think the stock intercooler/convertor are good to mid/high 11's, but makes it a little tougher to get there.

Upgrading the turbo to a TA49 or TE44, from what I've read you won't see as much benefit until you start pushing the boost into the mid 20's or so. For that you'll need higher octane and another chip and may not see much benefit on the street at lower boost and octane. Then you may want to start thinking about an alchy kit. Just something to think about.
