what does a/r number refer to?

wondering exactly, in simple terms if possible, what this number means. i know lower=faster spool, higher=top end.

yeah, i read all that but don't see a simple explanation as to what a/r is.

There's no simple explanation. Basically an AR is a ratio to denote intake VS outflow of a compressor or turbine housing.
