What does your guys car usually run for temps? mine seemed low tonight

Hey guys, tonight it was around 48 degrees F, and misting. Really humid and nasty outside. My car was idling at just a peek over 110 degrees, and running on the highway at between 120 and 130, never going above 130. Does this seem low? I am trying to iron out possible bad sensors that could be causing goofy driveablity!

Yup, that's low, probably a stuck-open thermostat! (Or worse, not enough coolant to register correctly!)

You have to get to around 155-160° for the ECM to go into closed loop, so that could be the reason for your goofy driveability!

What type of temp guage are you using??? Are you reading the temps off of a scantool??? If you're reading temps off of an aftermarket guage, then I would say that your T-stat is stuck open...If you're reading off of a scantool, then I would say the coolant temp sensor that gives the signal to the ecm is bad...

Yeah, i was reading the temp off of my OTC-2k scan tool. New sensor is cheap. ill grab one.

The T-stat is brand spankin new. Just put it in about a month agol.
