what fuel pump is this???

I recently ordered a new fuel pump but I can't tell what model it is. I thought I was ordering a 340, but it doesn't say "340" anwhere on it. My old Walbro 307 was stamped "307" right on it (with all the other numbers).

The numbers/letters on the new pump are:

F20000169
27504-1 MADE IN USA
PAT 4500270 5421306

So what pump is this??

Also, the new pump came with a rubber adapter (black rubber "cup") identical to the one on my old 307. But it doesn't fit the new pump. The adapter is for a pump with the pick-up in the center but the new pump has an offset pick-up. Does anyone know what the deal is?

I just got my 340 from BWeavy, who I think is supplied from Racetronics. My pump has the numbers below:
GSS 340M (DIFF THAN YOURS)
24804-1 MADE IN USA (DIFF THAN YOURS)
PAT 4500270 5421306 (SAME AS YOURS)

Not sure about what you mean when you talk about the "rubber adapter cup"...

Contact whoever you received it from to be sure.

If you need pics of a 340, let me know.

the "rubber adapter cup" is what the pump sits in at the bottom. I believe the instructions call it a "spacer", but it fits snugly between the bottom of the pump and the mounting bracket. It's perfectly molded to the shape of the bottom of the pump and the mounting bracket.

just did a Google search on the part number on my new pump (F20000169).

apparently, that's the replacement pump for the 340 which is now discontinued.

Ok, so at least I know I've got the right pump, but the adapter still doesn't fit!

ok, as I understand it, the pump I have (p/n F20000169) is the new pump from Walbro which replaces the 340M which is now discontinued. Has anyone installed one of these new "F2" pumps?

If you have, how did you get the black rubber spacer to fit? The spacer that came with my new pump has the hole in the center, but the "F2" pump has an offset pickup.

Turbo86GN,

I managed to get it to fit by trimming the rubber spacer a little bit. I wasn't completely happy with how it fit, but I don't think it's going anywhere. My GN has been down for other reasons so I really haven't had a chance to test the pump. It seemed to work fine for some cruising and a few WOT blasts.

I still haven't figured out why they ship a spacer with an on-center hole with an off-center pump.

Hi,
I put one of Racetronix' pumps in my car, had little trouble with the installation. I dont remember any hassle with the pump seat, but we're talking modification here, so some differences should be expected. A bunch of cars use this pump, and the manufacturers have to consolidate part numbers. AC Delco always does the kit format .When I stick a pump in one of my customer's cars, sometimes I even have to use a different connector, which they supply. My tool box is full of unused connectors....

just to clarify....

As I understand it, the Walbro 340 is *discontinued*. Many vendors probably still have stockpiles of them on shelves, however the new replacement pump from Walbro is p/n: F20000169. (looks like maybe Walbro is changing their part numbering scheme???)

This is supposed to be the equivalent is pressure and flow capabilities with the only difference being an offset pickup hole to match the original GM unit.

I had no problems what-so-ever with the wiring or connections. The only problem I had was with the black rubber "seat" that goes between the fuel pump and the hanger bracket in the tank. The new pump has the offset pickup hole but the rubber seat shipped with my new pump had the hole in the center like what is shipped with the 340. This wasn't that big of a problem, it just wasn't a perfect fit. Anyone else ever hear the phrase, "Beat to fit, paint to match"?? <-- it wasn't that bad.

I figure most vendors have a good supply of 340's on the shelf so by the time their gone, I guess Walbro wil be shipping the correct rubber seat for the new "F2" pump.
