So what is the best 3 bolt BB turbo for the low 9's in a 3200 lb 251 ci motor.

The only reason for the three bolt is so I don't have to fab up my ATR headers. There is no class that I run in, just for fun.

You would be better off selling the 3 bolt headers and buying a 4 bolt set. Ive seen them both for the same price used on here. Your giving up a lot with a 3 bolt in an application like that. Your probably sacrificing 40hp minimum with a 3 bolt running that quick. The only guys ive seen run low 9's with one are TSM cars that are required to run a 3 bolt.

Ive seen this posted a couple of times..where is the restriction on a 3 bolt header? Is it in the pipe, or housing?

The housing for the most part. The 3 bolt design is more squeezed down compared to the 4 bolt design where the flange is also. So it will flow less there but the housing and wheel are the biggest choker. There are a lot more housings available for the 4 bolt setup. I always wondered myself if the headers caused more restriction than we all think. I have a 4 bolt adapter for a 3 bolt header that i would lend out if someone was going to do a dyno/strip comparison running the 3 bolt header and 4 bolt tangential housing vs a 3 bolt on the same appication.

Thanks for the info I do have a new 76GTS four bolt that I want to use but I was wondering if there is any new Ball Bearing three bolt that would give the same power. So I don't have to cut up my header. I know its not hard to do but it is just the mater of time to do it.

There is no 3 bolt that will come close to that one. You cant get an S wheel in a 3 bolt to my knowledge. I dont know why anybody would anyway. You already have the turbo and im assuming its a tangential housing. So id post the 3 bolt headers and dp up for sale and then buy 4 bolt headers and have a new dp fabbed.

Do yourself a favor and go 4 bolt. A 3 bolt 76 will go fairly easy mid 9's but you got to lean on it to go much faster.

looks like I will end up doing some fab work. Thanks Guys.

I really think that is your best best.
You may find someone that wants to trade or you can sell and
buy a set of TA's, don't they make a 4 bolt set these days?

Ya they make them but it is in a 64 buick special and the ATR headers fit great. So I don't want to take a chance of spending $1000.00 + and they don't fit.
