What is this car worth???

I have the chance to pick up a 87 T type for pretty cheap. The car has 40K on it with every option. T- tops, digital dash, etc.. The car is very clean except for a couple spots on the body. I drove it last night and it runs very strong. Wanted to know how much they go for. A lady owns it now and wants to get rid of it for under 5K. I think that I might go for it. It is bone stock except for mufflers and a K&N.

It sounds like a good deal.Not many around with that kind of mileage in that price range.A couple of the options arent real
disirable t-tops and dig.dash but for the price I could probably live with it.If youre not sure about some areas on the car that
should be checked out before buying have someone go with you.There is prolly someone on this board in your area that could help.GoodLuck

40k with rust sounds a little fishy, but you cant go wrong for that price.


Who says Ttops arent desireable? I love mine

Only a problem if you want to go faster than 11.5 on an everyday basis

Yeah, I would check to make sure it isn't 140,000 miles first. But then again, 5 grand is pretty decent for a 140k car too.

Thanks for the advice. I can get the car for 5K, so I think I am gonna get it. It was painted about 5 years ago, but it looks really nice. The rust appear only to me minor surface rust. I guess the car sat outside for last couple years so that might explain the rust.
