Baldwin

...the only problem I had was finding a distributor for them. Turns out that the 24 hour truck repair center by the shop has them in stock for under $3.00 bucks. Great oil pressure and construction

as far as i knwo they still make the pf52. my friend picked one up 3 days ago for his gn. i usually run the pf47, but had to go to the mobil one this oil change, they were out of the ac delco, and i didn't want fram. so i paid $10 for a filter:rolleyes:

i'm a little confused, does baldwin make a filter that fits without and adpater? where do you find them? it looks to me like its an east coast thing.

I normally use purolator one but the last time I changed my oil my parts store was out of them. I got mobil one filters and they work ok I guess. Anything but fram!

Baldwin designed a PF52 replacement just for the turbo Buicks, i.e., the antidrainback valves actually work. I had to order at least a case because parts stores don't sell them around here. With tax and shipping included they came out to around $6/per. They're the best I've seen. The Wix valves work about half the time which puts them in second place. Its nice having instant oil pressure EVERY start with the Baldwins.

Baldwin here..

Little fram story.. One month ago at the track I was with my buddy and his Mullis dragster w/ BBC. This is a big dollar car and motor..

We had just changed the oil and added a Fram filter. Oil pressure dropped from normal 80psi idle to 50psi. When raising the rpm, the oil psi would DROP approx 20psi.

I changed the filter and waa laa.. Oil pressure back to normal and increasing with rpm. Filter was apparently collapsing and restricting the flow.

Just an FYI..
