Thats right, I'm stock motor and I'm about to upgrade from a TE44 to a p-trim 70 :D

Thoughts?

I was seriously wondering what kinda boost I can safely run. I've run as much as 26 with the TE44, but I realize that from a 70 would sent parts everywhere....is there a safe range or anything?

There is no "number". Run it nice and fat with no knock and it will be fine.

How are you running a 70 on a stock motor anyway? Do you have heads and cam?

I've run 25psi. on the street with mine on pump gas and alky. for the past 3 years.

Only 160K on it though. :p

Expect about 30-40 more HP over the 44 at that boost.

I don't see why 26 should be a problem if there's no KR.

Mines an Innovative DBB 70 p-trim.

You need impoperly installed heads and cams. and bad KR to make the blocks explode. ;) :frown:

Yeah, I know its a crank breaker....I don't intend on pushing it to *that* point just yet though lol. I intend on having MOST of the parts for a stronger engine before I push it that hard...

Thanks guys, didn't know if the stock engine would hold more than 20 lbs. or not....

I've seen stock motors take 35# for a while with a good tune. Your valvesprings will determine if you make more power at 30# than you do at 25#. You need some good 100-110# springs and shift at 5500 or so with the stock cam.

70 P-Trim

I have a stock crankshaft with forged pistons. I run 28-30 psi on mine with a LARGE dose of alcohol. As long as the tune is good, it will live for a while.
