Ive got a 2000 Camaro SS, 417 rwhp/388 rwtq. (SAE corrected, was dynoed as driven on the street, full weight car, fully functional, fully loaded, no cutout, no short belt, or any other dyno trick) Its has every bolt on you can buy for it (except the new electric Meziere water pump that just recently came out :(), a cam, custom MTI tuning, a few suspension mods, and a few drivetrain mods. It has the stock 10 bolt with a 3.42 gear. The car's rev limiter is set at 6700 rpm and I usually shift it around 6500/6600. The car is currently a 6-speed but is awaiting a 200-4R transplant. I wanted to know what needs/has to be done/modified/"beefed up" in order for the tranny to work properly and hold up to some low to mid 11 sec. passes. If there is any other information that you need to know about the car to determine, please feel free to ask. Thank you. :)

first you will want to install boost valves ,servo and shift kit into the transmission.these are all available in our master recalibration kit.the bq code 2004r doesnt have the larger 694 servo and cover assembly, adequate pressure rise to throttle angle ratio or accumulator circuitry neccessary to hold up to your engines power .secondly ,you will be taking a chance everytime you beat it up of breaking the forward drum or input shaft.i wouldnt worry too much about the input shaft but the forward drum will definately leave you stranded in short order .billet drums are available from us and elsewhere around here and it is in my opinion a must.a stage 1 overhaul kit will also be a good idea and includes everything you need to do your overhaul including bushings ,washers ,racing steels ,clutches ,wide band, filter ,gaskets ,teflon rings ,selective washers etc to make it all go together smoothly.if your doing it yourself check url below for 2004r information.also see tech articles and info and click gm 2004r.hope this helps.

Do you think Mike Kurtz street/strip build up plus a billet forward drum hold up to it? All the other billet parts that he offers he says that I didnt need because it would be overkill. Im not sure whats all included in the street/strip version, but he said that it would do great with the billet forward drum. Let me know, thanks.

Mike is a great guy and knows the 200 4R's very well. If he knows your car he is telling you straight out what it needs. I would depend on his knowledge here myself. Mark
