ok guys been on the side lines for a long time with building a business and life in general, so if this is in the wrong section please move it. My question is i have 3.8 109 motor i built about 8 years ago and has never been run, i have since sold the car as a roller and now need to sell the motor to pay for some shop improvements but i don't know a fair price if this is the correct section and you guys don't mind giving some advice I will post up all the engine specs thanks

You are def going to need to put who built specs etc. Has it been stored inside or outside? You could drop oil pan take pics of mains crank etc. Naturally the more pics the better of the right person rebuilt it it may be worth a couple of $ s

like i said this was done 8 years ago so from what I remember .020 over new rings and bearing polished crank assembled by westside performance houston tx.champion iron heads champ intake, poston 110 cam,t&d shaft mount rockers, mease dog house with ported throttle body , gn1 valve covers, te61 turbo with atr 3 inch down pipe ,poston headers, also have a deltagate mounted on the crossover pipe,50lb msd injectors, hrparts motor mounts , comes with all accessories new water pump and new agr power pump has been stored in my shop was actually sitting in the car until 3 weeks ago will post some pics when i can get my wife to help me. thanks

The drawback you're facing is that the engine's been sitting for 8 years. If you part it out you might make the same without parting it out. You really need to take some pics and show receipts for the work and parts as well as pics of the insides of the engine to convince someone it's worth what you want. Heads will need to come off to show bore condition as well as the pan to show the bottom end, otherwise it's basically going to be a crap shoot and sold pretty much as a questionable rebuilt engine, or a rebuildable one.;)

what i am trying to figure out is how much can i get for it ,. if it is only worth $1500 i'll let it sit in the corner for a future project . if it is worth $5k i have no problem tearing it down and proving what it is i've been out of the turbo buick scene for so long i have no clue what it could be worth and if the parts i have in it are obsolete or still good parts . i really dont want to tear down a sealed complete motor just to try to figure out is not worth very much thanks for the input guys

With those hypothetical numbers you need to let it sit in the corner for a future project.

Unproven GN engines aren't worth as much as you would think.

your almost gonna have to part it out... to get your moneys worth... unless you want to tear it back down and re-assemble again.

i cant imagine there is a single assembly lube out there i would trust to do its job after sitting more then a few months. gravity and heat have a way of pulling all that crap to the bottom of the pan and leaving critical stuff dry.
