What sort of 60ft SHOULD a hi 10 sec car have?

It should/could be quicker than that.. my car has run a best of 7.24 @96mph with a 1.53 60' time, which I believe is a very low 11sec pass. (only ran it in the 1/8th). The suspension is completely stock, no air bags, nothing. If I played with the suspension setup, got a little more power, and really set the car up to run 10s, I'd bet it would hit mid 1.4s.

Yep, 1.6's are way off for a 10 sec car.
1.4x's would be the goal depending on combo...;)

:( eeww I'm way off.

Is a 27x10.5x15 Hoosier street slick not enough tire at this point?
Thanks

Hopefully somebody with more experience with those exact tires will chime in but I'm guessing not. These are pretty heavy cars and need a lot of power to launch so a good working suspension and/or sticky tires are needed to get the 60's down. You should be able to get it into the 1.5's but the 1.4's I doubt it at this point..

Yes she's a miss piggy for sure, power everything, at LEAST 100 lbs heavier than my 86

Granted I have a Trans Am so it's not exactly the same but my car,at 3,550lbs with 3.08 gears on 26x11.5x16 ET Streets (mounted on stock 16x8 GTA wheels) my 60fts are usually in the 1.49-1.51 range with ET's around 10.7-10.8.My best was a 1.47 on a 10.69 run.

I think that though you may be heavier than me you are probrobly still running 3.42 gears and a 2004R trans(2.74 1st to my TH400's 2.48 1st), should 60ft at least as well as me.

Maybe a little more info on your combo and driving style, like how much boost are you launching with, can determine if it's the tires, suspension,or something else.

Thats my opionion if it helps any,
Steve

Don't sweat it right now!

Scott:

Keep in mind there were only two (2) passes put on the car and there were no changes made to the suspension. This was pretty much as it sits in your driveway. I don't think you should be sweating over a 1.6 right now. Do this for me............

1) Think about all of the adjustments that were made at the track. => none

2) Look at the slips. =>

3) Now try to control the perma-grin :) that's on your face.

Basically what I'm saying is, you gotta start somewhere and 10.8X @ 125 ain't a bad place to start! I'm sure there are a few guys around that would love to have your performance/traction problems. I looked at one of my old slips and saw a 1.667 on a 10.85/128 pass, so it's getting there. Be patient, it'll all work out.

Like anything else, 60s are a combination of launch and HP. If you have the HP to do 10s, and are willing to break something, 1.4s are certainly possible. On the other hand, if you're content to launch at 5 PSI, maybe not.

All depends on how ugly your TR is, or might be when you get done torturing it...

I had 1.6 60 fts when I got in the high tens too

something about these east coast cars and crappy 60's but we do get the job done :)

them 60's were on et streets

last time I went was on 28/10.50 drags and with give no mercy launches I had a best of 1.49 60 that day

btw the helmet gets heavy down at them 60's so be sure to be ready for it :D

first pass of the day I had a low 1.5 and thought for sure my head rolled over into the back seat when I let it go ...had been awile since I felt a desent 60ft
