lemme restate symptoms:
once boost passes 10psi, car goes 'pftfftftf' and doesnt speed up anymore, this is a 'sometimes', cause sometimes it does it really bad... sometimes it pulls hard and then cuts in and out of pfft'ing.. what thhe hell???? i thought it was the old 84 ignition, but now has a 87 coil with a wells module AND the adapter.. my false knock dissapeared now.. helppp

Nick it sounds like igniton or fuel to me, its breaking up right? Verify your fuel pressure, and try known good ignition components.

I'll take a wild guess. Positive battery cable shorting on the DP. :) Let me know if you find a cheap one. Now that my motor is out I can't believe mine wasn't shorting too.

ok, new battery cable $9.99 autozone. 2ga wire. i just piggybacked it onto the factory cable.. works fine for now. damn im a cheap ass. anyway, to no ones suprise. a half throttle'd 10psi is still all my car can handle, im posting this in the big tech forum.. maybe someone else can figure it out.

How's your turbo-to-intake adapter? Almost sounds like sometimes your actually pushing the turbo UP, and off the adapter! (or pulling the adapter off the intake)...

Are you still using the stock "accordian" intake tube? (I know you have a cold-air setup of some sort)...if so, you may be sucking the damn thing closed! (I've done that on purpose with mine by covering the MAF with my hand. It don't take much to suck that POS pipe closed, either! AND, it'll go back to its original shape, so there's no evidence!)

This happened to me once. I tried new solenoids, new computer, new wires, fuel pump, etc. The whole time it was just the turbo pushing itself off the intake once it would reach 7-10 psi.
Id take everything apart and put it back together and get full boost one time then my probs were back again. The o-ring in the adapter was worn pretty flat.

it has practically new o-rings.. but ill powerbrake it to 10psi w/the hood up and someone watching and we'll see... ill make sure te bolts are tight on the heat shield..

yes stock intake tube..

im buying a set of new plugwires today.. mine are kinda gross..

ill let you guys know

the whole time it was plugwires.

it fixed it

it ran good

i just went to go get somethign to eat

the volts light came on, everything started getting dim.

im so pissed right now, im about to f.*.*.*.i.n.g. KILL SOMEONE.

well, it IS a buick! You sure you ain't in MY car?

Check the fan belt for slippage (or even being there! LOL)

Hopefully it's cheap, like the voltage regulator. At least these alternators are easy to take off & get tested!

(BTW, minor edit above in case the kiddies are watching! I know your pain!)
