Thats the thing thereis nothing in the car to control it.. I was gonna snatch it out and just replace it with a razors kit.

Hhhmm....that's odd I would think there would be a controller for it.

Can you tell if the pump is maybe just wired up to some toggle switch so the driver has to manually turn it on when building boost?

What does it use for the alky tank?

I see the pump is a Shur Flo....

might be a do-it-yourself setup.

Looks to have a hobbs switch wired into it.... based on the pics, diy non-progressive controlled by the hobbs if I had to guess....

I wish I knew how to work it.. really dont wanna dish out the extra $ for a new set up.. I took the nozzle of the pump works.. but I dont know when it cuts on or how to adjust it.. on that little piece im holding up you can put an allen key in & open & close it.. that line runs to vacuum

vacuum becomes boost on spool-up

if it's running to a "vacuum" hose then the pump is probably boost operated. If you could apply 15-20psi (set the reg. on your air compressor) to that line, my guess is a long as you have 12V to the pump it would switch on, key in on position. Test it out, maybe you don't have to spend the $$.

That's the hobbs switch. Allen key will adjust the pressure at which the switch will open/close (turn on/off). Vac hose becomes pressure hose under boost. At certain boost, switch will close, liting pump, alky will flow. Use a voltmeter/ohmmeter and air compressor to set the switch and test the system. Unhook the nozzle so you don't spray alky into the motor when it's not running... could hydrolock it if you're not careful. Actually, looking at the quality of connections/work, I'd probably just take that ghetto POS setup off, and start fresh...

Diy

Yeah if it works you just need to clean up the wiring. Is there a pickup line from pump to the windshield wiper fluid resevoir?
