my combo is in my sig;all times were on srteet tires and 93 octane gas,18 psi of boost ,want to go faster.. turbo has about 90k on it.
should i (a). upgrade turbo toa 49 or a te44,add slicks and racegas? (b).put alky on it ,turn up the boost and max out what i have?

With a better 60', you could have a high 7 in the eighth and a solid 12 in the quarter. So I would recommend 28" DRs or slicks, higher boost launch(may require wheel cylinders), air bags, good tune, higher octane race chip, good fuel, and boost around 20 to 22 psi on the stock turbo. You can see the difference in the et a better 60' makes in my sig, 0.16 better 60' gave me 0.30 in the eighth at the same mph.

Tune for no knock when you get into higher boost. I saw hot wire in your sig, but not fuel pump. I would make sure with a fp guage on the end of the fuel rail ran up under the wiper arm that you were getting correct fp at WOT (static line off fp plus boost = WOT fp)

I am in the same predictament as you and will probably go with a 49 this winter for next year. So my advice is to max out what you have and then do the 44 or 49 since you have the injectors already, just be sure you have a good pump.

There is a great thread about maxing out the stock combo to 11s that I added some good advice from a board member too, see this:
