What to use for burns (no scarring)?

My wife had a tray that came out of the oven hit her. Dark purple line. Doesn't look too deep/serious. What can she use? Neosporin?? Vitamin E???

to take the pain away i always use aloe vera

If it blistered it's 2nd degree, have doctor prescibe Silvadene(this stuff cools it on contact & prevents infection). For 1st degree(sounds like what she has) use nothimg with oils in it, such as neosporin, oils make it worse, especially immediately afterward because it increases heat) Just cool it with cold water, no ice. Cover lightly. A day or so later she can use a good lotion with aloe & vitamin E.

Yes it is 1st degree. It seems that vitamin E is the best bet. There are no blisters. Just don't want it to leave a mark. Thanks.
