I recently swapped my stock turbo for a pt54. I have a nicely built 200 with a 2800 stall d5. The pt54 works allright on the street but does not leave at rpm/boost I want to. I'd like for the highest possible launchig rpm/boost and street manors are not of a big concern. Looking at my direct scan files, it appears the car is stalling at 2900 rpm and around 7-8 psi but it takes a long time to get there. I still want a lock up. Basically I want a torque converter that will work good with this turbo but still leaves me with room to grow. I do not like buying parts like this twice! My trans was built with all PTS parts, so I was kinda looking at those, put not sure which one to get for my combo.
Major parts of my combo:
pt54
stock i/c
009's
thdp
atr 3" exhaust

Thanks,
Kevin

I would put a dutt neck on your IC or get a different IC,your car should spool a lil easier.

Then get a 3500 stall.Pats is the cheapest if you want to retain lu(I use a Pats and am happy, esp for the $$$).Bweavy can set you up with a Pats.

i ended up getting a 12" 3000 stall from nick over at arizona GN- cost me 400 shipped after core, and he has the BEST customer service- the convertor came as promised and he went above and beyond, ive never delt with pats.

Thanks guys for the info. My buddy is going to let me use his intercooler and a half w/ the dut. neck. I don't think I want to go with another 12" Mine comes pretty close to 3000 already. Broke 1, is that a 9"? Does Pat have a website?
Saturday at the track, the car went the best of 11.88 @ 116 with a 1.89 60'. This was at 26#. I launched at 5-7# at 2900. I think a decent converter would help my launch and take a few tenths off.

Thanks
