How big of a water cooled BB turbo can I use with a PTS 2800 restalled D5 converter and still have quick spool up. I am currently using a Precision TA-49

another 67BB canidate.

just make sure u have enough injector. Im sure 50s will be enough with the alky.

Ok

That's the one I was thinking of the full ball bearing version GTB6131. How much of an upgrade is it over my current turbo? CFM?

I thought a 49 was rated at 545 HP and a 6131 is rated at 620. There should be a decent gain if you run it at 25+ PSI.

if your intersted im selling my gt3255(precisions replacement for the te44) its got about 1500 miles on it and is mint! i had it on a bolt on street car. and worked great!

edit: almost forgot, 3" inlet and 2.5" out

boost level

I don't run at that high of a level of boost. I have my car limited to 21lbs of boost.

I would probably go with a 32,44, or 49 then. I was told that a 6131 will not outperform a 32,44, or 49 under 25PSI. Assuming stock longblock. Patrick(RUQWKNF) told me that. I was thinking of going from the 32 to the 6131 DBB. But he changed my mind for now.

quicker spool

I was desiring something equal to, or better in CFM, but with quicker spool.

They sell a 44 in a BB. I think a 44DBB or 61 DBB may be good options.

49 vs bb6131

Has anyone changed from a TA-49 to the bb6131 with a 2800 torque converter? I would like to know how much quicker the spool up is, if any?

I went from a TA-49 to a 6131DBB with a 3000 stall and there was a very noticable difference :) The 6131 spools like crazy
