Hey everyone,

I'm thinking about buying another turbo regal. From talking to the gentleman he had the tranny built recently. After more talking he didn't build the one in the car. He said he got a spare where the car wouldn't be down since it was a daily driver.

My question is if this trans turns out to be a regular 200 out of an Olds or something, How much less should I consider offering for this car?

Thank and any input will be appreciated.

PS- I will plan on thrashing on the car pretty hard so I know I'll need to get a BRF.

It may NOT shift correctly. Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't.. its a crapshoot with a non BRF trans in a TR..

non turbo 200r4

I`ve got a AA (caddy) in my TT,shift are a little soft and too soon,so I bought a shot BQ ,and am going to install the VB,Gov,Boost valves,,that ought to wake her up a bit,,but I`ve been told that the AA isnt a bad trans,so look at the plate and see what it is. This AA is really not BAD,ITS JUST A LITTLE TOO soft for me.

The case is not a concern with a non brf trans case. Your main concerns are with which valve body, governor, servo, and shift plate that are in the trans. Everything else is making sure the accumulator springs are calibrated correctly. Those things will make the shift points and crispness what you want.

The guy told me today it is a dual pattern 200 he had in his Monte SS. He does have the BRF out of the car, but said it was slipping on the 1-2 shift. Should I just set the Monte tranny aside and pay to have the BRF built, or put the parts Mark spoke of in the fresh Monte tranny?

Just looking from a budget standpoint.

Thanks again
