I'm doing a new motor for my GN, and I need to sell my original to help fund the project.
I have a currently-running 160,000 mile, unopened 109 long-block in my '87 GN. The car is still semi-daily driven, and uses a quart of oil or so every 800-1000 miles. Haven't done a compression test, but it's got some leakdown, as the oil does have a distinct gas smell when I change it. This car has been in the family since new, and the oil was changed RELIGSIOUSLY by my dad and I every 2500-3000 miles, occasionally longer when driven on long cross-country trips.
Motor is quiet with no knocks or weird noises. I put a high-volume, high pressure pump about 6 months ago, but that was mostly for peace of mind. With the stock pump, I would see 6 lbs of oil pressure at hot idle, and it would rise about 10 PSI for every 1000 RPMs.
The only kicker is, I need the the crankshaft ONLY, so this would be sold without it. I have no need for the rods and pistons, so they would go to the buyer with the motor.
Anyone know what I could expect to get for this setup? How much more would I get if I included the crank?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
