all my tie-ins to the fuse box are messy. what's the best solution? i think my shoddy wiring is also making my knock gauge go off once in a while.

thanks!

I havne't done it yet but I plan on running ONE wire from the fues block to a SECOND fuse block and using that for all extra accessories.

I think the biggest problem in wiring is constantly adding "stuff". If you start out with three gauges.. and wire those in.. you can do a pretty neat job. When you keep adding circuits.. that is where you run into trouble.

The add-on circuits are neat with multiple fuses. But it helps to have all your gauges installed first, then clean out the wiring.

In the past, I've used a 10 gauge wire off the battery. Then have it go to a fuse block then have a grounding block next to it. It's kinda tight up under the dash but it's doable or you can put it in the engine bay if you want to run the wires through the firewall. If it's a wire that has to be "switched" you can tap that into the ignition wire.

Planning is the best thing you can do. When you keep adding on; things get overloaded.

My ex-neighbor (engineer) had me come over to look at some gauges he had wired up. He had all the pigtails for the lights (about 10 of them) squeezed into one butt connector; and one 16 gauge wire out the other end. I told him that if he chained them together it wouldn’t make such a knot behind the dash. He said they kept falling out anyway.

Went from this: > and V are terminals ---- is wire

Get a fuse block with 10 fuses & 10 ground inputs & stick it on the back of your Glovebox. Mine is full & works Great! Easy Access! Flip it down to get to them & also mark all the wires!
