My turbo is making a clicking type noise when under boost. I just recently upgraded to a new adjustable fuel pressure regulator set to 42lbs. What could cause this issue to happen. It doesn't seem to run too bad but it makes a ticking or clicking noise instead of the spool build up sound. I have a stock turbo bored out with larger wheel I believe a ta33. Help me here guys u dont want to ruin my freshly rebuilt turbo.

If the noise is coming from the turbo i would contact the person who recently rebuilt it and have him check it out/fix it. He did give you a warranty period didn't he?

A turbo isn't something i would let just anyone rebuild for me,the same goes for a transmission.

Pull the piping off, check for slop in the brg. Sounds like a wheel is hitting the housing. A very short run time w/ that happening, and you'll be in for another rebuild/replace.

Well I have been running with it for a little while now and that was my first assumption as to what could be wrong. Couldn't I just replace the wheel myself?

This doesn't have anything to do with my air/fuel ratio..?

I've toyed around with turbos before they don't scare me anymore but yes I agree transmissions ..I will never touch.

Anyways I contacted limit engineering and a rebuild kit goes for roughly $150... Doesn't sound too bad.

Now if I were to get rid of this ta33...could I possibly mount another turbo onto my hot air that is not a ta33 or stocker?
