Went out to Speedworld today to see if I could get that elusive 8 sec. pass. Before I loaded the car on the trailer I made one last adjustment to the front end travel limiters and that adjustment resulted in a crowd pleasing wheel stand. The only real damage was to my underwear and jeans (a real test for Tide). Only did one run because my steering locked up (not as bad as it sounds thanks to Robert's fix). I did manage 1.31 sixty (not sure if that was measured with the front or rear tires). I love the new 28x10.5 Phoenix slicks.

Looks good Jeff. I would tighten those limiters lol. I love the Phoenix tires they last forever. I didn't think they were still making them since they split from Firestone. Only problem I have with them are the sidewalls are to weak. Run tubes in them they will actually work better. Just looked at video again you are wrapping that tire pretty hard.

By chance are you running a flaming river steering box? If not what caused your steering to lock up??

I was running 14 lbs of pressure in the tires on that first run (brand new tires, that is the reason for a littler longer burnout) and yes I do run tubes. As far as the steering goes; the steering collar that attaches the rod to the transmission moved and locked up the key in the column. ( I do not use this setup with the 400 trans.) l need to secure this for future runs.

The way I fixed the collar problem is, first find a position for the lever (in the engine bay) and the collar that is well away from the locking position. You will find that a good position will put the lever in the engine bay in a position where there is a nice pocket in the firewall just behind the lever. I then bent the lever (a little hammer action) into that pocket in the firewall. The pocket locks the lever into position and hence prevents the collar from rotating. I needed the clearance for my headers too, anyway.
I had an experience that could have resulted in a wheelie like that, but being overly cautious, I had already thrown the wheelie bars on the car. It was good timing on my part to save parts.

Are you running traction bars or a different rearend housing? You're planting the tires nicely.

Wow, nice hit for sure Jeff. Looked like it left real nice, just a little high. ;) 11lbs launch and it lifted that much, wow!

Looks like you've got a handle on the suspension set up. Now you just need to update your avatar photo.;)

Very nice.

Art Morrison setup that lets me move the upper control arms to change the instant center of gravity (on a stock differential).

WOW now thats a wheel stand if you would have keep going it would have hit the bumper how do you like your T/A engine,I need to build myone but need more money good luck nice video i cant stop watching it...

Very nice. I figured you had to have something going on there. A stock setup just don't hit like that.

wow mr rand that was CRAZY!!!! Wish I was there to video for you!

get an HD cam and I'll do it for free next time if you want....peace!

Jeff, kind of a newb when it comes to suspensions, so let me ask a question to make sure I understand. You adjusted the front end limiters. This setup you are running stops the full travel of the front suspension, which also pulls the tires off the ground, but usually keeps the front end down better than full free travel. Right?

The adjustment you did, was is to lengthen the amount of upward travel?

Again, nice video, would LOVE to see it from the front for sure!

I'll give Jeff a hand here.
Squid4life, the answer to your question is yes. Limiting the amount of front end travel will tend to help limit the amount of front end lift. Extending travel limit will tend to do the opposite.

Cool, just wanting to confirm. Thanks Donnie.

Nice

On my GP I removed all the column shift junk and installed a neutral safety switch out of a camaro in the console.
