Yes car was from Calgary AB and I am in Edmonton AB and the speed shop that did the motor is also in Edmoton AB Canada. I drove the car home three hours, burned around my place a bit, took the pics. Snow next day, haven't driven the car since.

yup thats the car pmoore4321. The pics are with the old PT SLIC but now there is a front mount IC. Also there are nomore breathers, they were replaced with one breather and catch can. It's the only T/A Aluminum block car I have ever seen in real life. I would think there cant be that many here in Canada, compared to the USA.

What is the name of the shop that built the motor?

Just bought an 81 turbo trans am with a TA aluminum block v6. Haven't had much fun with it since its winter but it's dynoed at 809 hp and 804 trq with 27lbs boost. Should be a fun street car.

What a phenomenal sleeper :) That will be a very fun summer car!

Jarredsoon, that is an amazing TA! Drool worthy on all accounts.

I remember reading about the aluminum blocks coming out back when I had just graduated high school. Really impressive stuff to see them being put to good use.

I love the way the roller cam is held in place on the TA block, finally someone engineered something to replace the half-ass shim system. It is a beautiful block.

Hey jarredsoon

Did you get the stuck boost puck fixed on the downpipe? :-)

Ya I pulled the down pipe off and loosened the puck up, then I broke the tab off.... I'm takin the down pipe to Campbell automotive and they're gonna tack weld it back on for me. I have a heat sheild from another car I need welded also. Can't wait for summer to cruise this car!

RJC sells the parts to rebuild those puck assemblies in case you continue to encounter sticking issues.

Looking into a t/a block for myself are there any underlying issues in regards to maintenence or reliability vs a iron stage block? Plan on using it for what its built for
