I'm taking the front end of the car apart so I can install the new polygraphite PST Super Front End kit that I bought. One of my friends mentions to me why not paint everything up that you gotta take off anyways. So here I am. How do I prep it and make it stick and look good, and where can I get the stuff?

I'M PUTTING THIS STUFF ON THE ENTIRE UNDERSIDE OF MY CAR INCLUDING ALL THE SUSP. PARTS, REAR END, AND EVERYTHING!
GO HERE WWW.PORSTORE.COM AND GET THE STUFF. I GOT THE METAL READY, THE MARINE CLEAN, AND THE POR 15. LOTS OF INFO ON THIS SITE. GOOD LUCK. THE BEST PART IS, STUFF THAT IS PAINTED WITH THE POR 15 DOES NOT NEED TO BE COMPLETELY CLEAN OF RUST, AND WILL NEVER RUST AGAIN! THAT IS PRICELESS!;)

I just did the front end of my GN, along with a PST stock rebuild. I had a friend sandblast the A-arms, spindles, and brake backing plate, it you know of someone to do that. I just cleaned it off with brake cleaner then, and applied the POR 15. I applied it over the rust on the front sway bar. It will not stick to smooth surfaces anyway, and I have read about people having trouble with the frame areas if they are not prepped right.

If I had to do it over, I would also add the black metal topcoat over the POR 15, which you need for parts exposed to sun (not really the front end). I found a lot of info on the board in a search when I did mine also. Tim

Ok so I need to take all the pieces off and ruff them up and get the rust off?

Then use the metal prep, then use the POR 15, and then use a top coat?

Paint Over Rust - 15

No need to remove all the rust...just the big chunks.

Jer - I need to purchase some of this for my trailer. You may want some for yours. Let's purchase a quantity together and "save a buck or two"! ;)

I bought mine at the local auto body paint store. Just call around and you will find it. Same price as ordering it.

Tarey, thanx for the heads up.

Scott, I would like to get the stuff ASAP so I can hopefully at least have the parts painted by the weekend. Gimme a call on the cel.

Thanks to everyone for the great info. I really appreciate it!
